K.Carr Projects: Space saving ideas 1

Space is often a luxury in the home and with the world's current financial situation, moving to a larger home isn't always an option to a growing family.

At K.Carr Projects we have worked with many clients to help them utilise every inch of space in their home. In this series of blog posts we will show you how we can help you use the space in your home more efficiently in many types of ways.

Project 1: Cupboard space
Our client didn't have enough storage for items such as cleaning products, pots of paint etc so when they contacted us they wanted our advise on a way in which they could find the space to house these items.

Before
Our solution was to build a cupboard in the lobby area, to the flat, behind the front door. This was a void of space which couldn't be utilised in any other way.

We created a shelving system with floor to ceiling flat doors to give the illusion that it was just a wall with the help of push to open catches.

A perfect space for unsightly items!

We removed the pendant light so the doors could be opened fully and installed an LED spot light in its space

The flat doors were able to be painted to match the wall colours.

This was an inexpensive storage solution to hide away unsightly items, we even included a shoe rack which our client was over the moon about!
